My Bio

My name is Nathan. I live in Canada with my wife and way too many pets.

Art has always been a passion for me. Ever since I was a little kid I was always drawing things like space ships, dinosaurs, and airplanes. Over the years I've experimented with several different mediums and styles. Pencil on paper, digital painting in photoshop, and most recently coloured pencil on black paper.

Besides art I keep some exotic animals. My wife and I have gotten into keeping various species of snakes and poison dart frogs. I've always loved animals, and I consider myself extremely lucky to be able to keep such incredible creatures.

I also enjoy building model kits, watching movies, and eating sushi.

Life long Star Wars and Star Trek fan. I also enjoy studying dinosaurs, wildlife, and history. Generally I'm an all around nerd.
So... it has been a little over three weeks now... and it's still very surreal. A year ago, my mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. They were able to treat it, but the treatments themselves took a toll, and her body couldn't handle it. Complications kept occurring, and eventually her liver just shut down. I still can't really believe it's happened, I think partially because she had spent so much time in the hospital, and due to Covid, I was not allowed to see her much. So the shock of her death wasn't really as hard as I expected. But it has left me feeling rather... strange. I have noticed that I am quick to become frustrated when tasks don't go the way they're supposed to. My drive to create art has just been non-existent these last few weeks, but I think I'm nearly ready to start again. I still have a commission yet to finish, and beyond that I have some ideas in mind. I do have some older commissions yet to post, so I'll do that tonight. I'm sorry I've been absent for so long.

Alrighty... it's been an extremely long time since I updated my journal here. So let's see... I am safe at home, temporarily out of work due to Covid 19. I've been able to keep myself thoroughly entertained with art, netflix, model building, and all my pets. It's been a bit of a blessing for me personally since now I have so much more time to work on my things. BUT I know how horrible this has been for many people. Especially those front line workers putting themselves at risk every day and having to deal with assholes who don't care about anyone but themselves. Onto more pleasant matters! For over a year now we've gotten into keeping exotic pets. Snakes and poison dart frogs, mostly. I've loved snakes my entire life, but was never allowed to keep them cuz my mom is scared of them. But since moving out a few years ago, now into my second home with my wife, Britt, I have a little more freedom. She wasn't sure about snakes before, until we were vending at a Harry Potter festival, and one

I got to see it last night. Holy crap! I was a wide eyed child witnessing an EVENT for the first time. It more than made up for The Force Awakens. Some of the best actions scenes I've ever seen. Also a very stressful movie since I wasn't able to predict it scene for scene. Will definitely go see it again! SPOILERS BELOW! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Seriously. Stop reading if you haven't seen it. Go on. Star Destroyers! X-Wings! Death Star! Vader! Original characters! It felt like the original Star Wars trilogy without directly copying it's plot points in a rushed mess. We finally get to see Y-Wings as bombers. X-wings use ion
