The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Not really much to put here actually. Little sister is still being an unbearably self centred little s*** and thinks mom was really cruel to her(Considering they had the best relationship ever) and isn't home yet. Getting to the point where things would never be the same even if she did come home.

I'm still working on the Solar Farm in Sombra. Though we got flooded before we could get to work yesterday so we got sent home early. Like, in an hour of waiting. Same thing today, thought it wasn't as bad.

I'm playing hockey again for the winter. YAY! I friggin missed playing. Best sport in the world.

Ummm... that's really it. Working on next commission. Oh and I'm doing an art trade with

Yes it is a terrible situation, my own youngest sister (25) is just starting to grow out of that. Mine is ignorant, verbally abusive, controlling and insecure. Writing it out is a very healthy outlet.

Calling her selfish little shit? You haven't heard what she's said to me. About how brutally unfair and controlling we are. Doesn't care what she's done to this family. Especially to mom, who has cried every single day since this happened. You didn't see mom sobbing on dad's shoulder that friday night. I ask her how she's doing and she says "Do you really care?" She's not finishing grade 12, she's letting him control everything she says and doesn't see it. Nothing matters but her anymore.
