... is a pain in the ass some times.

(Taken from a post on Facebook. I know not everyone agrees, or care. I love Star Wars. Anyone who knows me would tell you that if asked to tell them something about me. My beloved universe has taken a serious, crippling blow.)

People saying we're "toxic" or that we're a "hate group" or that we're "extremists". People who act like we're the bad guys of Star Wars fandom or irrationally hateful or that we're the problem here.

We've got a right to be angry at Disney. For decades I've been a fan of Star Wars, and a big part of that fandom was loving the idea that all of Star Wars was one big interconnected Saga, that the films kept continuity with the novels, and the comic books, and the games. That was one wonderful thing that Star Wars had that no other sci-fi or fantasy fandom ever really had.

You could play X-Wing and go through the adventures of Keyan Farlander as a novice pilot. . .and a much older General Farlander would show up in the NJO novels. Something written in a novel set during the prequels could be referenced in a novel set decades later. A passing reference in a comic book or RPG sourcebook could later become the subject of a big story unto itself. The sagas of heroes like Kyle Katarn or the Jaina Solo would be told spread out over many years, in different mediums, intertwining with other stories.

It became a saga that spanned hundreds of novels, many hundreds of comic books, over 100 roleplaying sourcebooks and dozens of reference books along with dozens of computer games, that all built on what happened in the novels.

Wookiepedia records over 100,000 articles of items in that continuity. That makes the documented scale of that universe larger than the Wikipedias for languages other than English and a handful of other languages. It also makes it one of the largest wikis on the web of any form, with the vast bulk of the articles devoted to that continuity that extends past the movies, that Extended Universe.

It was the largest, most comprehensive single fictional universe ever made, all building from decisions decades ago by George Lucas to not have the novels tell stories about the Clone Wars and rise of the Empire that he might conflict with when he came back to make the prequels, and decisions by Lucas Books to have the novels all be part of a bigger story, and by Kevin James Anderson to reference the events of Dark Empire in the Jedi Academy series set in its aftermath, starting that precedent.'

Then, Disney comes along and says that EVERYTHING Star Wars that we've watched or read or played since 1977 that wasn't the 6 films or the TCW series isn't relevant and that they'll be making new Star Wars that will tell a different story and they'll be producing LOTS of new Star Wars movies that ignore that vast continuity.

Then, when we get angry at storylines we've been following for decades being cut off, for an ongoing saga stretching over decades being terminated, we're the bad guy? We're told we're being "toxic" for not liking what Disney had done? We are being called a "hate group" for being angry at the people who took the universe we immersed ourselves in and discontinued every ongoing story and then slaps a "Legends" banner on it all and tells us that it's all non-canon and not real Star Wars and tries to tell us to buy new stories that ignore everything we've seen before.

We've got a right to be angry.

We've got just cause to be hostile.

We're not going to just peacefully sit down and accept what Disney has done to Star Wars.

Then when we go to forums and discussion groups that are ostensibly about all of Star Wars or for all kinds of Star Wars fans, if we express these opinions, we get banned. We get told that we're wrong, we get shouted down and have our posts deleted. We are told that that kind of talk isn't welcome on that site or in that group.

We're here because there aren't a lot of places that welcome dissent from the Disney Empire, that allow us to say we aren't loyal subjects of Emperor Mickey and part of his Great Jedi Purge.

Final submission for the collaboration. Kinda last minute. oh well.

Due to the empty state of Star Wars canon now, I feel it is more important than ever to keep these characters known among fans.

Ulic Qel-Droma
Third submission for the collaboration, along with Kyle and Jan.

My personal favourite character of the entire Star Wars universe. Tragic story of love, loss, betrayal, redemption.

Jan Ors
Jan Ors. Kyle Katarn's partner in crime from the Star Wars Dark Forces and Jedi Knight series. My second contribution to the giant collaboration. This one gave me no end of trouble for two reasons. A) Kind of a boring outfit. B) Very little HD reference material for said outfit. But I think she turned out ok.

Hello again, and thanks for the recent :+fav:--I've been meaning to get in and comment on some of your amazing recent works--beautiful character sheets!  Giving "life" to some of the notable characters that have been skipped by proartists is a great project, and I hope you keep on going!  I, too, wish the SW EU was being respected by Disney...but I don't really see anything that can be done...  The fans of the EU will never "go quietly into that good night," though--fan artists and fan fiction writers will keep it going, for themselves if for nothing else!  Thanks again--keep up the great work!

All I want is the EU to be continued. There's a huge empty gap between Crucible and Legacy era. I'm very nearly finished Fate of the Jedi. Brilliant series. Was hooked after the first page. Cried like a baby during a couple scenes. Even the movies haven't gotten that kind of emotional response from me. I'd rather there be no episode 7, and have Star Wars continue as it was.

I begin to know that you like the ice hockey. I begin to know that you are an out of the normal boy or young man. I do not know if you have plans to become a professional ice hockey player. You can try to practice other sports like basketball, soccer, american football, lacrosse, tennis, baseball, motocross, inline skating or skateboarding. A good idea is making a video about you and your friends playing street hockey and you and your friends could make the street hockey uniforms with a long sleeve shirt or a t-shirt or soccer style t-shirt with or without long sleeve shirt under the t-shirt or the soccer style t-shirt, the hockey gloves or the lacrosse gloves, the hockey pants and hockey socks or basketball short pants (or shorts) or sport short pants (or sport shorts) with or without basketball tights (or leggings) or sport tights (or leggings) and the inline skates and you and your friends can use the helmets, elbow pads and knee pads similar to the helmets, elbow pads and knee pads used by bikers and/or skaters and/or skateboarders, the ice hockey chest protections or the motocross armors under the long sleeve shirts if uses the long sleeve shirts or the t-shirts or soccer style t-shirts with the long sleeve shirts under the t-shirts or the soccer style shirts, the padded short pants (or padded shorts) that are used by some skaters and/or skateboarders under the pants if uses basketball short pants (or shorts) or sport short pants (or sport shorts) with or without basketball tights (or leggings) or sport tights (or leggings) and the ice hockey shin guards under the hockey socks or basketball tights (or leggings) or sport tights (or leggings) or soccer shin guards under the basketball tights (or leggings) or sport tights (or leggings) (and the basketball ankle protections under the socks).
